"Aldimenz" is the debut of piano player Jochen Aldinger and saxophone playing Robert Menzel, two musicians giving new impetus to Dresden`s jazz scene. Alyways looking for greatest possible musical freedom the duo follows the leitmotif of jazz tradition. Still the duo musically lives on its own material. Being independent artists and highly origianl composers their improvisational intensity can be compared to that of the great duos of the last decades. Be it Dave Liebman and Richie Beirach or the doyens Steve Lacy and Mal Waldron - Jochen Aldinger and Robert Menzel meet requirements that are more than extraordinary for musicians of their age.
