Georg Ruby occupies himself on "Deconstruction Service" with works of one of the most important and fascinating German female artists: his arrangements of the songs of Hildegard Knef add some unexpected elements of sound and improvisation to the very special Knef sound. He does it without vocals trusting the tightness of his arrangements, the power of the basic melodic material and the - even in case of instrumental versions - presence of the vocal aura of Hildegard Knef and, of course, the unmistakeable "voice" of exceptional reed player Wollie Kaiser.
