The basis for the new work of the "Hannes Zerbe Jazzorchester Berlin" is the poem "The Erl-King" of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, translated by Sir Walter Scott. The recording has been made live showing the attractive contrast between the effective volume of a jazz orchestra and the “classical“ performance of a singer. It is exciting to experience how big the intersections of arranged soundscapes and improvised passages can be and how consequently and impressively the lines between the musical genres are crossed.
