The JJOS has recorded "The Halberg Sessions" in the year 2009 in cooperation with the broadcasting station Saarländischer Rundfunk in its studio. The recording features material from the big band tradition (compositions of Francy Boland) as well as modern, excitingly arranged interpretations of the music of salsa greats as Arturo Sandoval and Tito Puente. "Hunzenbach", the atmospherically dense arrangement of the band’s leader Georg Ruby, rounds off the versatile musical project of the JJOS.
