German lyrics in the mostly english speaking world of jazz, the use of a charismatic voice, at the same time Mateusz Smoczynski, one of the most creative European improvisers on the violin – all this leaves its mark on the sound of "Schultzing". The band, which is not caring about categorizations, stands for well-rounded sound images that may be jazz, maybe pop or give an idea of Neue Musik – often being spiced up by a good portion of humour.

(Stefan Hentz, Die Zeit, 01 VI 2011)
