The Henning Berg Quartet’s recording is the result of a jam session based on ten pieces of music. Each take should sound different from the preceding one. Nothing should be repeated. Without any sheets and almost no prior agreements. The musicians have chosen only those tracks from the seven hours recording material that - uncut -convinced them most. Of course the compositions of "Seven Lively Conversations" are standards from the Great American Songbook. But to hear how the quartet deals with the material in a varied and unexpected manner, and with superior ease, only leaves the listener to take a bow.
